The Japanese are going to read the minds of animals - a translator device is already in development.

People have long dreamed that their pets could speak and express their thoughts. This is evidenced by numerous films and cartoons in which animals freely express themselves with people. And it seems that in the very near future it will cease to be a fantasy, as Japanese scientists have taken up the development of a device that allows owners to understand their favorites.

Japanese translator for animals

Japanese scientists are about to develop a fully functioning animal translator. It should be noted that this is not the first time such studies have been carried out. For example, in the United States, a technology was created that allows you to convey the thoughts of a dog in the form of text.

For this, a special vest with sensors is put on the animal, which sends signals to the application on the smartphone.

At the same time, the Japanese create a translator not for the entertainment of the owners. They suggest that the device will be able to make more effective the search for people in areas of natural disasters and all kinds of cataclysms. It is also reported that research is underway to find ways to transmit thoughts at a distance.

Toshitaka Suzuki and Yukiyasu Kamitani from Kyoto University, Rehei Hasegawa from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and the International Institute of Advanced Telecommunication Research are working in this direction. The developments are aimed at providing medical assistance to paralyzed people and those who are unable to speak.

Development essence

As for the device for reading the minds of animals, they will work on the basis of a neurocomputer and a magnetic resonance imaging machine. As a result, the development will be able not only to record neural connections and transmitted signals in the pet's brain, but also translate them into words. By the way, now such devices are used to help the deaf and dumb.

20-year forecast from the White Paper

The White Paper, the science publication of the Japanese government, predicts that people will be able to fully understand their pets by 2040. Such devices will become a real breakthrough in understanding the work of the brain and thinking of animals. In the future, this knowledge can be used to help people with disabilities.

In Japan, work is underway to create a device that in the future will allow humanity to fully understand animals. According to the scientists' idea, the device will have to record signals in the pet's brain, translate them into full speech. And according to the White Paper forecast, the development will be ready and available to people by 2040, which is not so much.
